I received an invitation from the Farmers Branch Young Professionals (FBYP) to record their CEO Panel discussion on October 13, 2015. The FBYP are professionals, ages 20-39, working on building their business networks and reaching their career goals.
We begin with the panel discussion and transition into group. The presenters for the groups are in the following order; Chris Downing, Mike Sanborn, Chris Calandro, and Mark Glenn. The groups are a little noisy, but I think you will enjoy the discussions.
At the very end, I got a chance to talk to Dr. Wayne Smith, Argosy University, and get a glimpse of his story and Argosy University.
You never know who you’re going to meet. I met Dario Salas, Owner and Operator of Repair Pro, while he was working on a project in my home. Through the course of the project, I was able to get to know him a little bit and was inspired by stories he told of his life experiences. I hope you will enjoy them too.
Not that I needed it to be brought to my attention, but it has been brought to my attention, the amount of “wow”s that I say in my casts. Yeah. It’s true. I use it a lot. Moving forward I promise to limit my use of “wow” in future casts.
Looking forward to somewhat of a new format in the coming months, Patchwrks is morphing into a collection of stories from professionals that I meet. Each has a fascinating or “wow” story about where they started and those pivotal points that brought them to where they are today. We all have those “wow” moments that change our paths, whether it be trends in the market or life circumstances.

I just completed a 3 part workshop series on social media with author and social media expert, J. R. Atkins, Something Different Companies. J. R.’s easy going manner, coupled with his knowledge of social media platforms makes navigating the social media trends seemly effortless.
On a slightly more annoying note; who can guess what musical instrument is being played in the background of the episode?
A Story of Volunteerism and Growing Business
I had the privilege to talk with friend and small business advocate, Richard Brown.
Richard shared a little of his story and how he used his passion for giving back to the community and how that impacted his business.
